We do not provide testing for COVID-19 at Square One Health Group but if you are experiencing the following symptoms, you can schedule a virtual appointment with one of our doctors in the comfort of your home.

If you are pregnant, have a new born, or you have any other condition that would need an in-person appointment, please first call for a telephone assessment with our doctor and after the assessment we will book an in person appointment if needed.

If you are experiencing flu-like illness including fever, cough, sore throat or respiratory symptoms (e.g., shortness of breath, trouble breathing) please do the following self-assessment and determine the best route for yourself.

If You Are Experiencing Symptoms

If you feel that you have corona virus symptoms and as per the above listed assessment you feel you need to be tested for Corona Virus, only then please call Peel Public Health at 905-799-7700 to be referred to a COVID-19 Assessment centre.

If You Are Sick But Not Showing Symptoms of COVID-19

If you have the flu and fever without any respiratory symptoms (e.g., shortness of breath, trouble breathing) you can stay home and get a telephone appointment with one of our doctors.   For that call our office at 647-370-2503 or click here to make an appointment with one of our doctors so we can assess you from the comfort of your home.

Who should come to Osler's COVID-19 Assessment Centre?

People who have flu-like illness including fever, cough, sore throat or respiratory symptoms (e.g., shortness of breath, trouble breathing) AND Have traveled anywhere outside Canada in the last 14 days.

OR, Anyone who has been in contact with someone who has flu-like symptoms who has traveled outside Canada in the last 14 days;

OR, Anyone who has been in contact with someone who has a presumptive/probable or confirmed case of COVID-19.

What will happen at the COVID-19 Assessment Centre?

Based on an assessment of their symptoms, people may be tested for COVID-19, as appropriate, and receive direction regarding next steps in their care.

Who will see me in the COVID-19 Assessment Centre?

The COVID-19 Assessment Centre is staffed by a Registered Nurse, Registration Clerk, and a Physician or Nurse Practitioner will be available to assess patients.

Patients will be assessed, may be tested for COVID-19 depending on their symptoms, and will receive direction from the care team regarding next steps in their care.

Will I have to wear a mask if I visit the COVID-19 Assessment Centre?

The safety of all staff, physicians, volunteers, students, patients, families and visitors remains a top priority at Osler, not just in response to COVID-19, but at all times in our hospitals.

All patients visiting the COVID-19 Assessment Centre will be required to wear the mask provided and use the hand sanitizer prior to entering the facility. The area will be cleaned on a frequent basis.

Will a family member or friend be allowed to join me in the COVID-19 Assessment Centre?

Reflecting our commitment to maintaining a safe work and care environment in the COVID-19 Assessment Centre, visitors will not be allowed to join patients in the Assessment Centre with the following exceptions:

  • An adult accompanying a child who is a patient,a frail older person, a person with a disability
  • Anyone acting as an interpreter.

Do I need to be concerned about my health and safety if I am scheduled to attend an outpatient appointment at Peel Memorial Centre or if I need to visit the Urgent Care Centre for a health concern?

Please be assured that Osler remains a safe place.

Your health and safety is our top priority. All people going to the COVID-19 Assessment Centre will be isolated from other patients attending the Urgent Care Centre and outpatient services at Peel Memorial, and will not have access to any other part of the facility other than the area in which they are being assessed.

Patients should continue to visit the Urgent Care Centre and Peel Memorial for their regular appointments.
